Disappointments are inevitable and how we cope with them often is a defining moment in our lives. Disappointment can be a starting point for an open conversation with God. We can, through prayer and his divine grace and our own diligence and creativity, with God’s help, change the way we live and the choices we make. Start by letting them go or forgive someone who has disappointed you. Also forgive yourself for being disappointed. It is a natural response to difficulty. Ask God to help you release particular disappointments. Count your blessings. See your wealth not in terms of outward possessions, but in terms of spiritual faith, hope and love. Remember the future is in God’s hand. Don’t let disappointments define you.
