In our message today, we reflect on the faith of the men who stormed the beaches of Normandy 79 years ago. As Christians, we know that having faith means trusting with our entire being that God has our back and that He will help and care for us. Faith in the Lord means having confidence that God is good, that He is on our side and He’s always working even when we can’t see it. Unshakable faith in God is based on the very character of God. Scripture tells us that God is all-powerful, good, wise, and full of love. God is worthy of trust, praise, and adoration. We can have strong unshakable faith because our God is almighty and cares for each of us personally. We can cast all our cares on God no matter how large, bone-crushing, or small because we know that He is all-powerful and all-loving. If God were only one of those things – almighty or loving – we couldn’t have faith in Him. If He was all-powerful but not all-loving, there would be no guarantee that His power was working for our benefit.
