The Parable of the Sower

Man sowing seeds by hand.

Worship Service on July 16, 2023

In our sermon today, we take a look at the Parable of the Sower against the backdrop of the life of George Lyle, an unsung hero of faith. George, born a slave in 1752, eventually became a licensed preacher. After being freed from slavery, he moved to Jamaica with his family. Despite opposition and imprisonment by the Jamaican government due to his evangelizing activities among slaves, he continued preaching. He went on to establish a church and school in Spanish Town, Jamaica. George Lyle is a beautiful example of a seed that fell on good ground. Despite many trials and tribulations, George accomplished much and was able to win many souls for Christ.
