If we were to interview the devil, he might tell us that he likes to fly under the radar, that every generation is the same, and that he has a long reign. His motto is “do as thou wilt”. That is the devil’s campaign slogan. He would tell us that lust of the flesh, lust of the eye, and pride are the three main things that he works on. He works on our own innate desires. He would tell us that humans are never satisfied. They always crave more and therefore it’s so easy to get them to crave more. He uses our natural ambitions and desires against us and perverts them for our own destruction. He would tell us that his plan is to never let humans be content. He depends on humans to argue and fight. He feels he can easily trick humans because of the jealousy that they have in their hearts. He works on pride. With more knowledge comes more pride.
Thankfully, we can start and end each day knowing that Jesus Christ died for us and rose again from the dead, defeating the devil and promising us eternal life. What a wonderful gift of grace we have been given as Christians!
